Nice Boutique Style B&B
My wife and I visited last month for a couple of nights on a Woucher deal. This effectively meant that we paid £150 for 2 nights. At that price this B&B represents reasonably good value for money but there is a tremendous amount of competition in the area. We were very warmly greeted upon our arrival and asked whether we'd visited the area before. We were given maps and leaflets and the area and what if had to offer explained with any further help offered. In the room there is a book on the B&B which helpfully has recommendations of local restaurants/Bistros etc. We tried a couple of them during our stay and I can say without fear of contradiction that the suggestions in the book are most helpful. We were given room 10 which is on the top floor. The room is very tastefully decorated although we found it a little small (larger rooms are available). It had the usual tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen TV etc. The en-suite was down 3-4 steps, not something I'd want to try in the middle of the night after a few pints. This was clean with a good range of toiletries. The breakfast in the morning (which you have to pre-order the night before) was exceptional and by far the most comprehensive choice of any hotel or B&B I've stayed at in the UK. The breakfast menu runs to 3 pages and there is something to suit any dietary requirement. This ranges from full English, Kippers, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, the choice of menu items just goes on and on. In addition to this there is a buffet table with fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit cereals etc. The service again at breakfast was excellent. Would I return again, definitely as soon as this awful pandemic is over.

Lovely Small Hotel
My husband and I have had a lovely weekend at St John’s lodge. Our room was well fitted out, including a small fridge. Our only complaint was that the pillows were rather hard, perhaps alternatives could be on offer? With a well stocked honesty bar, and water, fruit and delicious carrot cake on offer in the guest’s lounge, free of charge, it all added to the experience. Breakfast was wonderful, pre-order by 6:30 the evening before, plenty of choice, including vegetarian and vegan. The staff are friendly, and the whole place is pristine. I would say that the hotel is equidistant from Windermere Lake at the bottom, and Windermere town at the top, depending on the individual, I’d say about 15 minutes either way. We didn’t make use of the spa, but hopefully we shall return for a longer stay, and make use of it on that occasion.

Great B&B, even better host
The B&B is in a great location. The host Rich is fantastic. Breakfasts were fantastic with a great twist. I was really pleased with the whole stay. The room was really nicely decorated and we had everything we needed.

Birthday treat
Lovely little place in the Lakes. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome. Rich explained everything to us and showed us to our room, which was wonderful. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities were constantly replenished.
Shower was hot and powerful.
Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked and plenty of it. A good selection too.
Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Great stay and would definitely return
The location was great, as were the staff. The room was cozy and comfortable and spacious enough. We were on the top floor and it was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was good and there was a wide selection.
There was nothing I didn’t like but if I could suggest one improvement it would be to put a small rack in the shower for ease of holding all the toiletries! Other than that tip top!

Wonderful Stay
All-round a lovely stay. The rooms were immaculate and all the the staff were so friendly and happy to help. Absolutely loved the breakfast and so many options. We felt so welcome and just a 10 minute walk each way from the Windermere village and Bowness village. Would definitely recommended.

We loved it!
We recently stayed at St Johns's Lodge and we loved everything about it. We were greeted by the owner Richard who was very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in room number 5 which was gorgeous, a large beautifully decorated room with large bathroom, the bed was enormous and really comfy and the whole house was very clean and modern. We even met the little puppy Buster! The guesthouse is located in between Windermere and Bowness and the walk to both is about 5 mins. The breakfast at St John's was spectacular and there was so much choice. We will definitely be returning in the Summer when the weather is better! : )
